Take A Look At These Three Inspired Retail Concepts
I've run across several retail concepts in LA recently that
I can't help but gush about.
They're unique and altogether different than what's out
there.
The Dry Bar is a salon that simply offers blowouts. No
cutting, no coloring. Just styling.
It's set in a bar-like setting that couldn't be more inspired. Even their website is whimsical.
The Juicy Leaf sells plants as sculptures, plus indoor
firepots. That's it. Earthy and organic
and with a back patio, the setting is perfect for what the company sells. They also offer classes on how to create "plant art."
Marcelita L'art et le Tea sells art, floral arrangements and
sculptures with the goods being sold amidst a tea salon. They're awaiting final sign-off from the City on the tea salon before launching their official website.
So why do I love these concepts?
They have a point of view. Each isn't trying to be everything to everyone. They've
created a niche for themselves and don't try to deviate from that niche to
increase sales.
They created a fantastic environment. An environment that makes you want to
hang out, to discover, to interact.
There's a passion. Just talk to the owners or employees and
they want to help you understand, to show you, to interact with you.
Are you just going about the day to day, uninspired by what
you own or where you work? Are you downtrodden by the economy, by the lack of
foot traffic and sales? [This
sounds like a bad infomercial, doesn't it?]
Get out there and get inspired! There are some amazing concepts that are unique, inspired
and energizing. Go experience them
for yourself. Then take away some
of that energy and passion and apply it to your business.
