You CAN Fight City Hall—And The Airlines, Too!
In February 2007 I wrote a post, There’s a Customer Revolt Going On, describing how Tim and Kate Hanni had been stranded for hours on an American Airlines flight sitting on the tarmac in Austin, TX.
They created a passengers bill of rights and began lobbying Congress to prevent the Airlines from stranding passengers for over long periods of time.
At the time I was doubtful that anything would come of it, but Monday the US Department of Transportation announced a rule limiting tarmac delays to no more than three hours.
Further proof that you can harness the power of social media and you can create change.
Congratulations to the Hannis and to all their supporters who hung in there.
Regards,
Glenn
