We Are More Interested in Our iPad Than Our Own Health
What do you want for the holidays?
The Consumer Electronics Association, in its 17th annual study of holiday purchasing patterns looks at our holiday wish list. It's a bit of a scary list:
1 Peace/happiness
2 Notebook/laptop
3 iPad
4 Clothes
5 eReader
6 Car/motorcycle
7 Family together
8 Good health
9 Video game system
10 Money
My list of observations:
1. Phew! Fortunately, as consumers we do want peace and happiness more than a notebook or laptop computer, but you never know what the makers of Apple will come out with next year that could top the list! (Apple's iPad is the only branded product mentioned by name on the list!).
2. eReader is also very high on the list. Does this mean that eReading is finally being preferred over the printed word?
3. We want techology more than we want clothes (easier to dress for the virtual world?)
4. Famly together is pretty far down on the list (past a lot of technology), but at least it is ahead of video games!
5. Money is #10. Except for good health and family being together, can't you buy everything else with money? We want to buy "things" to make us feel a certain way and not just the money.
What is on your wish list?
