Revenue Producers: It's Time for Focus to Grow Sales
There are so many gadgets, tools, and ideas about growing sales. You could go to Bing or Google and find millions of links that could put you in a non-stop search mode for years.
In talking with over 1500 small business owners, sales professionals, consultants, and entrepreneurs last year in my Small Business Innovation Tour, I saw a lot of people and businesses struggling. Some were doing great things, but not enough of them. Others were not clear on their vision or the value they offer others. Some people just seem lost. (more about my year and tour here.)
It made me realize that the biggest thing one can do this year - right out of the gates - is to FOCUS on revenue producing activities - those that lead to more revenue and those activities that help your customers be raving fans of yours. It starts with what activities you will actually do each day.
If your job is "sales person" or if you are wearing the sales hat in your company- your #1 goal is to create revenues. Where to start?
I'd like to share a great post by Mike Michalowicz that talks first about your To Do List. Do you have a handle on it??? I love his idea to write down in a notebook - this is what I tell my clients as well - forget the web, the tools, the colors - just put things down as you think of them in a spiral notebook that you have with you. You can transfer stuff and make it pretty later.
If you can first start with what is most important to do - AND what will lead to revenues - you will be guided in the right direction.
Next we will talk about some productivity tools that will assist you once you get your next actions clear.
