Job Sharing
Here's an interesting article about job sharing from Management Issues.
the notion of job sharing is very interesting to me and it's something
I think I would like to try sometime. What about you, would you feel
comfortable job sharing?
Trust and partnership would be key, that's for sure. And a great
system for communication is needed. Could you totally trust someone
else to pick up where you left off? The relationship building process
needs to be buttoned up.
A challenge that the article brings up is that it is not easy to
fine potential job share openings. Most job boards are focused on
full-time positions. Well, the solution to that is to change things!
Posting and communicating a job is not rocket science and we can figure
this out with a little effort.
Why would an employer want to consider offering job sharing positions?
- To more fully attract and retain top talent - the war for talent is on!
- To benefit from engaged hearts and minds - when people are in jobs
that suit their needs and wants, they do better work. Better work leads
to better results.
- To solve a problem with a hard to fill position - try a new approach!
