Blogging your Home Business
If you have a home business with a website, do you have a blog to go with it? I've written before about blogging in the framework of a drop-ship home business. On a broader scope, blogs can benefit any home-based business (for that matter -- any business). Here are 3 general benefits to maintaining a blog.
Informal Tone - The relaxed, informal style that blogs tend to take helps your site visitors see that an actual person is really there. Static websites are generally cold and impersonal but blogs help to offset this. Furthermore, blogs can be conversational if you allow your visitors to leave comments.
Sharing Knowledge - In a blog, you can relay knowledge that your readers can't find elsewhere. This helps to build trust among your customer base and can give your website visitors a reason to bookmark your blog and return again.
Building Fresh Content - By posting in a blog you are building content and posting on a regular, frequent basis keeps that content fresh. This is why search engines such as Google show 'lots of love' to blogs and will often reward your site with better ranking.
No matter what kind of home-based business you are involved it, a blog can likely give it extra value. And once you start, keep posting and it can quickly become an asset to your business.
