What is Spillover in Network Marketing?
In Network Marketing home businesses you will often hear a term called "Spillover". What does that mean and how does it work?
In many network marketing companies, positions are fixed and rigid. They are often based solely on who you join under and when you join. Spillover refers to the ability to have new customers and/or representatives placed under you by your upline. You in turn have the ability to place customers or reps under people in your downline organization.
This is done often as a promotion and it doesn't mean you will automatically get a bunch of customers handed to you. Buried in the rules of the compensation plan, you will find that there are conditions attached. For example, there may be certain criteria you have to meet before you can qualify for the spillover.
If you see a Network Marketing using terms in their advertising like "guaranteed spillover" or "automatic spillover" be sure to ask lots of questions. Most of the time, it will not really be guaranteed or automatic.
