What Is an Intuitive Business Coach and Why Should You Invest in One?

A significant number of entrepreneurs are lone wolves, meaning they make all their decisions and build their business strategies on their own. Sound familiar? This, unfortunately, limits your potential because you're limited to your own knowledge and experience.

If you're willing to get out of that lonely box, a business coach can help you see your business from a different point of view, learn about tools you weren't aware of, and show you how to make more informed decisions. A business coach will keep you accountable and help you tackle sticky topics that you're struggling with on your own.

Just like any type of service provider, there's a wide range of types of business coaches. If you're of a spiritual bent, consider hiring an intuitive business coach.

What is an intuitive business coach?

A traditional business coach may focus on lists, goals, and actions. An intuitive business coach will do all of that but lead from a place of spiritual inspiration. Allow me to explain.

We all have intuition, or, as you might call it, gut instinct. This is that weird feeling you get that walking down a dark alley at night might not be such a good idea. Or the exuberant feeling you get about launching a business you're really excited about. If you're able to tap into that intuition, wonderful. But many of us aren't. An intuitive business coach taps into her own intuitive abilities to guide you to making business decisions and empowers you to go deep within to come up with your own wisdom.

A session with a coach might involve a short meditation to help you zero in on the underlying issue in your business (for example, imposter syndrome that's keeping you from taking risks that could lead to big rewards). Your coach might have you create a list of values for what's important to you in your business. She might even suggest a crystal to put on your desk to help you focus. You can get as "woo" as you want with an intuitive business coach, or keep it business-focused and simply learn to trust yourself more.

Why work with an intuitive business coach?

Simply having another perspective can be hugely helpful if you've got decisions you're struggling with. Here are specific reasons to consider working with an intuitive coach.

    1. You can unite the masculine and feminine

Believe it or not, regardless of your gender, you have both masculine and feminine traits, and these show up in how you run your business.

Do you sit down in the morning and start working, barely taking a break for lunch, and wrap up 12 hours later? Do you keep your head buried in the work and take little time to envision a strategy for growing your business? This happens when you lead from the masculine.

On the other hand, do you prioritize taking breaks for exercise or lunching with colleagues? Do you dedicate time to be in your business rather than do? These are characteristics of the feminine.

Ideally, you have a balance of both, but if you're burned out, you might be imbalanced toward the masculine. If you've got analysis paralysis, you might have too much feminine energy. An intuitive business coach can see which direction you're leaning toward and help you find balance.

    2. You can rediscover that spark

When you started your business, you were so excited about it. Since then, that spark may have sputtered out. Now you might feel resentful of the work you do and long for a change. You might not necessarily need to shut your business down, but a coach can help you identify what that spark was and when it went out, and help you work to reignite it.

    3. You'll see your business with fresh eyes

It's amazing how different others can see our businesses, isn't it? From another perspective, your company can look completely different. And because a business coach has experience working with businesses in different industries, she might provide insights you couldn't have come up with on your own. Sometimes that's all you need to find your flow.

    4. You'll learn to trust yourself

Going back to intuition: If you second-guess yourself, you may need some help and validation to truly believe that the decisions you make on your own are the right ones. A coach can help you tap into that intuitive mindset through meditation and journaling.

    5. You can bring in your spiritual side

If you're like me, you're interested in spirituality, but you feel a division between that side of you and your entrepreneurial side. In fact, you don't need to separate the two! An intuitive coach bridges that divide between the spiritual and the mundane and can guide you to incorporating rituals and practices that leave you feeling both spiritually fulfilled and set up for business success.

Is an intuitive business coach right for you?

Intuitive coaching is highly personalized. You won't get a cookie-cutter session but rather one that is fluid and focused on whatever your energy is directed toward at the moment. Over a period of a few weeks to months, you can become aligned on your business goals and take the right action to making them a reality.
