Time Management = Energy Management
There was a very interesting article on Entrepreneur.com a couple of weeks ago about how much energy management factors into time management. If left to our own devices, our bodies have times when they work best and other times when you feel like you are wading through molasses. I know that I can get much more done before lunch, for example, than I can between lunch and late afternoon. I have another good working period that starts after dinner and runs well past a decent bed time.
The article looks at ways that we can control our tasks to fit our energy. We can make sure that we are doing our most important tasks at the times when we are most effective, and we can leave those times when we are feeling sluggish to do things that don´t require as much concentration or don´t have the same urgency. It also talks about the need to understand your energy levels and how they affect you so that you can manage them and become more effective. It´s a very interesting article and one which is well worth checking out.
