Time Eaters and a Home-Based Business
If you're running a Home-Based Business, or trying to plan for one have you given thought to the time you must spend on it? A Home-Based Business is like any business - attention, effort, and energy must be directed to it so that it can become successful.
If you're still working a job and trying to juggle a home-based business at the same time, good time management is essential. The easiest way to make time for your home-based business if you have time challenges is to get rid of time eaters (or least restrict or manage them).
Time eaters come in a wide variety and one person's time eater might be another person's necessity. But if you really look at your activities with an honest eye, you can find them. Usually, they're things like watching television, checking personal email, doing household chores, chatting on the phone (non business), playing with the pets, and so on.
Sometimes, they're not so obvious. For example, the other day I decided I needed a break and ended up getting involved in this and that (not related to the business). That break ended up being about 3 hours! Not that I didn't need or deserve the break, but it didn't need to be 3 hours long and I should have set a limit on it to begin with. Next time, I'll be sure to have the timer handy.
What about you? Are you able to identify your time eaters and work to reduce or manage them so that your home-based business can thrive?
