Get started today! Overcome your fear by doing some screencasts (here's the Ultimate Guide to Screencasts) and when you're comfortable with those, move on to the next level. The videos won't be perfect in the beginning, but that's OK. Remember that good sound is almost more important than a high-quality picture. So invest in a good microphone. Just do it ! ;-)
