U.S. New-Home Sales Hit Record in June: "U.S. New-Home Sales Hit Record in June"

"WASHINGTON -- Sales of new, single-family homes posted yet another record in June, evidence that the housing market continues to support the U.S. economic recovery.

New-home sales unexpectedly rose 4.7% in June to a record seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.16 million, the Commerce Department said Friday. The fresh record eclipses the previous record of 1.108 million set just a month earlier.

May new-home sales were revised as a 10.9% rise to 1.108 million annual rate, previously estimated as a 12.5% rise to a 1.157 million annual rate."
