A "grantor" can be the person (individual or corporation) that makes a grant to another person. For example, a deed transfers title to real property from the grantor (usually the "seller") to the grantee (usually the "buyer"). Also, for example, a grantor may fund a trust by giving money to start a trust.. The person that receives the funds granted by the grantor is known as the grantee, recipient, or beneficiary. The term can also be used when referring to calls or put options to refer to the seller or writer.
