A "chief operating officer" or "COO" is a corporate officer responsible for management of day-to-day operations of a company. The COO is a member of the senior management team of a corporation, monitoring the daily operations of the company and typically reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The COO in some companies is also the President.
