If you have a home based business selling on eBay, you might already know about the importance of choosing your niche carefully. Niche products are where you will find most success in eBay selling.
The Apple iPod for example is not a niche product. It’s very popular among buyers but it’s also popular among sellers. To sell that product, you’ll not only have to compete with the likes of Best Buy and Circuit City, but hoards of other smaller sellers as well.
Sometimes you can tag onto highly popular products like the iPod to find other niche products. For example, the iPod market has spawned an entire subsidiary market for iPod accessories. There are iPod protective cases, earphone holders, and many other things. Other niches can be found in out of the way markets. Examples would be retro lamps, nature themed throws, adaptive-growth plant lights and so on.
Stick with the niche products and you’ll have a better chance of success on eBay and web selling in general.
