Thanksgiving Checklist (BlackBerry -- GENOA net works; $1.99)
This app lets you create checklists to get you through Turkey Day. Put in your shopping list so you get all your ingredients at the store. Then create a list of all the dishes that need to be prepared, who is bringing what dish, and any other items you need to remember during the chaotic day.
Black Friday
Black Flyday (Android -- Iconosys; $9.99, free until Black Friday)
To get the best deals this year you need all the help you can get. Black Flyday locates the loss-leading deals you're looking for. It actually plots them on a map so you can view the closest deals. Teams of shoppers can collaborate the buying by setting up the app together. A GPS-enabled, real-time bulletin board displays shared locations and deals. Iconosys made Black Flyday free, but the price will be set at $9.99 on Black Friday.
TGI Black Friday (iPhone -- Ecatcher; free)
Find out about the Black Friday deals for all major retailers with TGI Black Friday. This app lists deals even before they appear in the paper and updates frequently. Once they're in the paper, TGI makes PDF versions of the ads available. Use the app to create a shopping list, compare prices between retailers, and shop for online items.
Football
College Football Scoreboard (Android -- Smartphones Technologies; Free)
Whether or not you get to watch the game, you can stay updated with College Football Scoreboard. Keep track of scores, schedules, and news stories for the ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Conf USA, MWC, Pac 10, and SEC conferences plus the top 25 schools.
If that doesn't go deep enough, the same company has SuperFan app versions for several of the most popular teams including Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.
Pro Football Insider (Windows Phone 7 -- Pro Football Weekly; Free)
If the NFL is more your speed, keep an eye on the game with Pro Football Insider. The app has stats, schedules, and standings, plus the latest news, rumors, and insider information. If you need a few minutes to chill during family festivities, you can watch videos and read up on the latest Twitter feed covering the league's popular players and experts.
