Meeting Somewhere Different

As business travel managers plan to gather in Costa Rica next April for an Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) Executive Forum, I first thought what a great idea. Then it put me to thinking how we often overlook the more unusual or exotic countries to hold our business events.

Planning a conference or business event in a country like Costa Rica, Tahiti, New Zealand, the Philippines or Tanzania has a number of appealing factors:

- Depending on the currency it can often be cheaper in running costs

- It can be exotic enough to appeal to participants to actually attend

- The unusual environment may help creativity, a fresh start or a different approach

There is heaps of infrastructure now available in most countries so let your imagination fly.
