How many ways can you get a hamburger? I imagine you could eat at a different hamburger joint every day for a year and never go to the same place twice. Spin offs. That's the way of business in the US and it's catching on elsewhere.

A perfect example of spin offs has been happening right before our eyes. I've watched with interest the growth of the pixel market. I talked about this great marketing idea a while back. Since Alex Tew created the idea of selling pixels many others have joined on the bandwagon, not only to sell pixels, but to sell bricks, stars, one minute of fame -- there's even a directory of pixel sellers now.
You name it and someone has hopped on the bandwagon with an "I can do it better attitude." And that's what business is about. You may not be selling pixels, but there's a business lesson here for you. The key to your success lies not in your idea, but in your differentiator. What makes your business special to the market? Why should they buy from you instead of the other guy?
