Law of Attraction Works in Business!
I have spent the better part of the past year following the hype of the “Secret” that everyone has been talking about – or better known as the “Law of Attraction”. I decided to put it to the test to see if it really worked, and indeed I found that it did!
As a single mother, I fell into the trap of believing that I needed a real “job” in order to keep up with the wants and needs of my children. Not only do kids have school supplies, lab fees, school lunches (if your kids refuse to pack their lunches for the sake of looking “lame”), but they have soccer uniforms and fees, dance recital outfits, horse training fees, and the list goes on.
I had several people say to me “well perhaps you are just going to have to pull your kids out of all their activities since they’re not necessities” – the same people who are raising troubled teenagers I might add… I read somewhere recently why is it that we let go of things we enjoy for the sake of saving money rather than coming up with creative ideas to make money in order to maintain joy in our lives? I couldn’t agree more.
So, my indispensible job where I held all the critical knowledge of the firm and juggled more than one hat was not so indispensible after all. I was laid off with absolutely no warning at Christmas. Now had this layoff happened in all the years before I came to understand the Law of Attraction, I would have fallen completely apart. I mean, I just bought a house in August, had a baby in September and then lost my job in December!
However, I did not fall apart. I was strong - stronger in fact than ever before. I was compelled to come up with new creative ideas to make my life work on MY terms – not on the terms of someone who held my financial destiny in their hands! I truly believe what you think about; you create – whether good or bad.
Now this may sound a little wacky to those of you who have not spent the last year inundating yourselves with all of the “positive thinking” books that I have, but hear me out. Just what if you started taking a different approach than what you’ve been used to doing? Has what you’ve been doing in your life worked so far?
One of my daughter’s teachers told her this past week, “you students need to look at colleges not only to obtain corporate jobs, but to prepare yourselves in a possible trade as well.” This is good advice. I know many people in trade professions currently who are doing quite well.
I personally decided to take a different approach and go full force into a fairly new company as an independent representative and it was the best move I have ever made in my life! Every person on this earth has the abilities within themselves to accomplish great things. I am going to recommend one of my favorite books from this year – an ABSOLUTE must-read for any and every business owner as well as individual. It is The Millionaire Course by Marc Allen. In April of 2009 he is re-releasing a book entitled “Visionary Business” that is also a must-read for every business owner.
I am going to be spending an enormous amount of time this year in my Office Management Blog discussing new approaches to the way owners run their businesses. It is time to change how we manage our businesses people! I am excited to share with you all I have learned over this past year!
If you would like to know exactly what I have been doing as far as my business venture goes, please send me an email and I will discuss it with you. Stay tuned for many wonderful new pieces of insight I will be posting for Office Management!
