Keep Up with Shipping Notices
If you sell shippable products as your home-based business, one of the most important pieces of communication you'll be sending to your customer is the shipping notice. Customers always want to know that the items they ordered have not fallen into some internet 'black hole'.
A good shipping notice should do the following:
- Thank the customer for the order
- Give them the tracking number and a URL where they can track it
- Express interest having them come to your website/eBay business again.
- Have a signature with name and your URL
It's best to send these as soon as you have shipped the order or your drop shipper has shipped it. If there are exceptions -- such as backordered items or shortages -- let your customer know that as well. And of course, it's best to automate this as much as possible. Well informed customers are more likely to be satisfied customers.
