How Do I Know If I Need a Dedicated Server Room?
If your office has so many computer servers that their heat and constant buzzing have become distracting, it's probably time to set up a server room. By giving your servers their own dedicated space, you reduce office noise and improve security by limiting the number of people who have access to your data and equipment. Server rooms also allow you to cool hot-running systems, while adding another layer of fire prevention.
If you do decide to set up a server room, plan carefully. Ensure you have enough space for both the servers and additional equipment, such as tapes, fans, and, of course, room for people to access and maintain the equipment. Also, make sure there are enough electrical outlets and that there's extra space into which your servers can grow.
