Great Marketing Idea: One Restaurant Offers to Pay Customers' Taxes
As you know too well, April 15 is tax day. Well, what would you think if one of the restaurants you frequent sent an email with "We'll pay your taxes" in the subject line. Caught my attention in a big way.
Okay, so they aren't really going to pay my taxes. The promotion says the restaurant will pay the sales tax on your bill when you dine with them on April 15. I think this is a unique, clever, timely way to generate business on a Wednesday night.
In these tough economic times, we all need to be as creative as possible when it comes to our marketing efforts. This particular restaurant promotion is not only creative, but also it offers value -- an unusual way of giving a discount.
It's so easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day operations of your business that it's easy to miss these great marketing opportunities. Why not schedule a little creativity time? What do you do that helps get your creative juices following? Take a walk. Listen to to music. Read. Whatever it is, actually put this time on your calendar and don't let other issues get in the way.
Who knows -- maybe I'll be writing about your great small business marketing idea next.
