This is just a quick plug for my favorite utility for sending large files via email: YouSendIt.com. I’ve got multiple options for posting large (>10mb) files on webservers, but when I do that I usually forget to take the file down and it clutters things up. Gmail is great for sending files that are under 10mb, but I occasionally have a need to send bigger stuff.
YouSendIt is good for three main reasons. Reason one is that you can send files of up to 100mb. Reason two is that you don’t have to register to send stuff. You don’t even have to provide your email address (though it’s helpful since you get a confirmation that everything worked). Reason three is that the upload interface is right there on the front page! You don’t need to dig into the site to find it, everything is right there. That’s good thinking about customer service.
YouSendIt has some competition, but I’ve only used DropSend (or maybe it was DropLoad). It works fine, but you’ve got to register to use the service. YouSendIt doesn’t require registration and the interface is right on the front page. Sorry. I just can’t get over that.
