WYSIWYG
What You See Is What You Get. Describes programs (especially page layout and word processing applications) in which a document as displayed on the screen accurately represents printed output.

WYSIWYG
acronym for "what you see is what you get." With a word processing program, this means that the appearance of the screen is supposedly an exact picture of how the document will look when printed. A disadvantage is that subtle alignment errors may be hard to see, whereas in an editor with explicit codes, they would be obvious.
