WORM
- Write Once, Read Many, as applied to computer storage media, such as CD-R and DVD-R, that can be written to once but read from multiple times.
- A type of malware, similar to a computer virus. Instead of infecting other programs, however, a worm makes copies of itself and infects additional computers, typically through network connections or by attaching itself to e-mails. Through self-replication, it may consume enough computer memory and disk space to crash the computer.
