Dictionary of Marketing Terms: warm color
warm color
hue at the red-yellow end of the color spectrum, such as pink, orange, or coral. Colors are the way we perceive light of varying wavelengths that emit energy in the form of heat to an extent depending upon the length of the wave. For example, hot metal appears to turn red to the human eye. Warm colors emit more energy than cold colors such as blue or green, and are used in advertising to evoke sensations of warmth, sexuality, and youth.
