temporary change of address
request from customers that the mailing or billing address in their record be changed for a temporary period of time. Temporary changes of address are frequently used by college students who live off-campus between semesters and by people with vacation homes or summer houses. These address changes present a problem for the fulfillment system if it cannot automatically start and stop a temporary address change. Most systems are equipped to handle only one address at a time and cannot store a second address for later use.
