Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association-College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA-CREF)
life insurance company that sells life insurance and annuities to the faculty and staff of colleges and universities. Its TIAA-CREF Tax-Sheltered Annuity (TSA) uses a traditional fixed dollar annuity, the TIAA portion, and a variable dollar annuity, the CREF portion. Most participants have a split funded plan with 50% of the premium going to each, but this proportion can be changed as often as a participant desires.
