accounting-related statements made by authoritative bodies requiring specified accounting, reporting, and disclosure by entities. CPAs are required to follow authoritative pronouncements in conducting their functions. Examples are Statements Of Financial Accounting Concepts (SFAC) and the Statements Of Financial Accounting Standards (SFAS) of the FASB and the AICPA's Statements On Auditing standards (SAS).
