Dictionary of Real Estate Terms: subdivision regulations
subdivision regulations
government rules that set standards for the design of residential subdivision within a jurisdiction. Typically, they determine the design of access roads, the amount of open space provided, and what will be dedicated to the city or county upon completion.
Example: Polecat County had no authority to impose zoning regulations, but it could enforce a set of subdivision regulations that controlled, to some degree, the speed and character of new development in the county.
