SRAM (Static Random-Access Memory, pronounced "S-ram")
a type of computer memory that does not require a periodic refresh signal. SRAM is more expensive than DRAM and is rarely used as the main memory of a computer system, but it is often used for caches, video memory, and microcontroller systems. Contrast DRAM.
