Dictionary of Marketing Terms: spectacular
spectacular
- elaborate television show, motion picture, or live stage presentation that usually features a very large cast, unusual costuming, and many special effects, and costs vast sums of money to produce.
- outdoor advertising display that features neon or electric lighting, some moving parts, lavish colors, and/or unusual special effects as a part of the advertisement. Located in or around large metropolitan areas, spectaculars are usually custom-made to fit special high-traffic locations and are the costliest of all outdoor advertising displays. Typically, they are leased by an advertiser on some long-term arrangement.
