investing in securities of companies that do not conflict with certain social priorities. Aproduct of the social consciousness movement of the 1960s and 1970s, these would exclude companies that derive significant profits from defense contracts or whose activities cause environmental pollution or companies with significant interests in countries with repressive or racist governments.
