Russian Trading System (RTS)
electronic system established in Russia since 1995, designed to emulate the NASDAQ system. Until 1988, NASDAQ supplied trading and settlement software, but in that year, RTS switched to an in-house product. At the end of 2004, more than 300 securities traded on the RTS Stock Exchange, including more than 40 bonds, as well as futures and options. The RTS also offers market participants the opportunity to quote and view quotes for hundreds of securities not listed on the exchange. The RTS Index is the official Exchange indicator.www.rts.ru.
