payload
- cargo or freight producing revenue or income, usually expressed in weight. Any kind of merchandise that a carrier transports and that will be sold for profit is considered a payload.
- returned merchandise transported by truck to a wholesaler, while en route to another merchandise delivery. Since the truck did not have to make an extra trip to return the unwanted products, its trip was not considered unprofitable.
