Banking:
- checks or drafts that have not been presented to the paying bank for payment, or are still in the process of collection.
- aggregate amount owed by a bank's credit card holders; this usually is less than total card volume due to early payments.

Securities:a corporation's capital stock; stock issued and sold to investors, less stock repurchased by the issuer (treasury stock).
