policy that incorporates several different types of property insurance coverage, such as flood, fire, wind, etc. In its broadest application, the term is synonymous with all-risks insurance, which covers loss or damage to property from fortuitous circumstances not specifically excluded from coverage. Do not confuse multiple peril insurance with multiple protection insurance, which is a form of life insurance policy combining features of term and whole life insurance.
