Multi Function Device (MFD), Multi Function Product(MFP), all-in-one
an electronic device that performs more than one function. The most common MFD is a desktop printer (usually color) in combination with a scanner (flatbed or sheetfed); together the two operate as a digital copier. Some MFDs also incorporate fax modems or software to permit scanned documents to be faxed using a computer modem.
