MOV
- (metal oxide varistor) an electronic component used to protect electronic equipment from momentary voltage spikes. See surge protector; power line protection.
- abbreviation for "move" in most assembly languages. The direction of the arguments depends on the language. On Intel processors, MOV 7,8 means move the value 8 into location 7; on Motorola processors it means move the value 7 into location 8.
- file format used by Quick Time for movies and other media types.
