Dictionary of Marketing Terms: magazine coupons
magazine coupons
cents-off coupon printed in a magazine. Magazine coupons can better reach a target audience than newspaper coupons and offer the advantage of four-color process printing that newspapers can achieve only with an insert. Magazine coupons should have a key code, so that the source of the coupons can be tracked. The coupon may be perforated for easy removal but, regardless, should be a simple square or rectangle that is easy to cut out. Some advertisers have created coupons in the shape of the product they are selling that are so difficult for consumers to cut out that almost no one does.
