limbo
- in filming, any shot whose background has no identifying characteristics (e.g., showing time or place), therefore giving the illusion that time and space are endless.
- in filming, lighting technique in which the scene is lighted so that the subject or object is displayed in the foreground and the background appears either gray or black.
