Dictionary of Computer and Internet Terms: DSLR (digital single-lens reflex)
DSLR (digital single-lens reflex)
a digital camera that is also an SLR, so that the viewfinder uses the same lens that will take the picture.
A disadvantage compared to other digital cameras is that with a DSLR, the LCD screen cannot display the picture until it has been taken; only the optical viewfinder works while the picture is being composed. Other digital cameras can display an electronic image continuously.
