dolly
- platform mount on wheels for a television camera so that the camera has easy access to all places in any scene being shot. A dolly can be moved noiselessly throughout the set so that filming or taping can proceed with continuity.
- command given by a director in television production to move a camera on a dolly: for example, "dolly in" (bring the camera closer); "dolly out" or "dolly back" (move the camera back for a longer shot).
