dollar bond
- popular name for a municipal revenue bond quoted and traded in dollar price, rather than yield to maturity. Dollar bonds are usually municipal bonds with a single large amount due at one time, usually the term bond portion of a financing, as opposed to serial bonds, which consist of numerous maturities of smaller amounts. Dollar bonds come in the same $5,000 principal amounts as other bonds.
