die-stamping
gravure printing process that produces a raised image by using intaglio plates that have the print image etched into their surface and filled with ink. The paper is forced into the engraved surface of the plate, picking up ink from the etched areas and being molded into the surface. Die-stamping is used primarily for printing letterheads and business cards.
