DB-9, DB-15, DB-25
designations for the kind of connectors commonly used on serial ports, video cards, and parallel ports respectively, with 9, 15, or 25 pins. (For pictures, see Figure 239 and Figure 191.) The suffix P means "plug" and S means "socket"; thus a DB-25P has 25 pins and a DB-25S has 25 holes.
