Dictionary of Marketing Terms: Computerized Forwarding System (CFS)
Computerized Forwarding System (CFS)
address-label-generating operation of the U.S. Postal Service that forwards mail for customers who have filed a change-of-address order, performs address corrections, and forwards or returns undeliverable-as-addressed mail to the addressee or sender. Mail class and endorsements determine whether mail is forwarded or returned. The CFS may also generate an electronic address change notification if the mailer participates in the Address Change Service
