color
the visible difference between different wavelengths of light. Fortunately, the human eye can be fooled-the color of any wavelength can be simulated by mixing light of other wavelengths. Colors on the screen are produced by mixing red, green, and blue light from tiny phosphor dots (see dot pitch). Colors on paper are produced by mixing or alternating inks in various ways.
