CD-ROM XA (CD-ROM extended architecture)
a set of extensions to the ISO 9660 format for compact disc data, allowing sound and video to be interleaved with computer data. The earlier format required sound, video, and computer files to be on separate tracks; XA removes this restriction. Virtually all CD-ROMs are now this type.
