Dictionary of Marketing Terms: bonus pack
bonus pack
package containing two items that sells for the price of only one of the items. Bonus packs are used frequently to introduce a new product by the same manufacturer (for example, a new fabric softener included in a package with a laundry detergent made by the same company) or to make buyers aware of a companion product to one they already use (for example, a hair conditioner included in a package with shampoo). In addition, manufacturers will sometimes use a bonus pack as an incentive to purchase by attaching a sample size of a product to a full size of the same product.
